Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Document care and observations clearly and timely in resident records
• Follow infection control procedures and maintain a clean, safe patient environment
• Communicate effectively with nurses, family members, and the care team to support continuity of care
• Assist with meal service and ensure residents receive appropriate nutrition and hydration
• Promote resident dignity, independence, and emotional well-being through respectful care

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Jersey (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic clinical tasks
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a care team
• Dependable, compassionate, and professional attitude appropriate for a clinical setting
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on resident care and assistance with ADLs
• Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
• Safe transfer and positioning techniques
• Familiarity with infection control and safety practices
• Good documentation and charting habits
• Strong interpersonal skills and resident-centered communication
