Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care and assist residents with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe transfers, mobility and fall prevention measures
• Document care accurately and timely in resident charts
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
• Communicate clearly with residents, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Assist with meal service and ensure dietary needs are met
• Promote resident dignity, independence, and comfort at every opportunity

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification valid in New Jersey
• Minimum relevant hands-on experience preferred (per-diem roles welcome for newer CNAs)
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to lift/transfers per facility policy and follow safety protocols

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care, ADLs, and resident safety
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and basic observations
• Infection control and hand hygiene best practices
• Teamwork and ability to follow care plans and nurse direction
• Time management skills to prioritize resident needs during a shift
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy when working with residents and families
