Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living
• Perform routine patient checks and measure vital signs accurately
• Assist with safe transfers, positioning, and mobility support
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team
• Document care delivered in a clear and timely manner
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support care plans
• Build trusting relationships with patients and families through respectful communication

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Active or eligible for CNA certification in New Jersey
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with patient transfers and personal care
• Able to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Reliable, punctual, and patient-focused with strong communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamental patient care techniques and infection control practices
• Basic vital signs, height/weight measurements, and observation skills
• Safe transfer and mobility assistance
• Basic charting and documentation (EHR familiarity a plus)
• Strong teamwork, empathy, and clear communication with patients and families
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
