Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Perform routine tasks such as bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report significant changes to the nursing team
• Document patient care and observations clearly and promptly in the charting system
• Work collaboratively with RNs, LPNs, therapists, and other team members to support care plans
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
• Support patient dignity and comfort while fostering positive relationships with residents and families

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required) — valid to practice in New Mexico
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to per-diem scheduling
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Pass required background checks and health screenings (TB test, immunizations) as applicable

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care principles and infection control practices
• Comfortable with safe patient handling and mobility assistance techniques
• Familiarity with charting patient care and following care plans
• Good observation skills to recognize and escalate changes in patient condition
• Able to prioritize tasks in a busy clinical environment while maintaining compassion
