Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients during overnight hours
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor and document vital signs, patient condition changes, and care provided
• Ensure patient comfort and safety, responding promptly to call lights and alarms
• Communicate clearly with nurses and interdisciplinary team to support continuity of care
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow infection-control protocols
• Support meaningful connections with residents through respectful, person-centered interactions

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (New Mexico certification preferred or eligible)
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass state background check and drug screen as required by facility
• Comfort working overnight shifts and providing hands-on patient care
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a care team
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and resident care best practices
• Skillful in safe transfer and ambulation techniques
• Familiarity with charting and documentation standards
• Understanding of infection control and basic safety protocols
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively during night shifts
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
