Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate obstetric care for low- and high-risk pregnancies, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
• Perform and make decisions for cesarean sections and manage operative vaginal deliveries as needed
• Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring (NST/CST/FSE) and make timely clinical decisions
• Manage complications such as VBACs, breech presentations, abruptions, and other urgent obstetric situations
• Perform required gynecologic procedures from diagnostic laparoscopic/minor cases to operative procedures like ectopic surgery and oophorectomy when needed
• Coordinate transfers and referrals through established Docline/transfer protocols to regional centers
• Document care thoroughly using Epic in both clinic and hospital settings

Qualifications

• Licensed physician (MD or DO) with training in OB/GYN (board certified or eligible preferred)
• Experience with cesarean section, vaginal delivery, VBAC, and repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
• Comfortable managing both low-risk and higher-risk obstetric patients and urgent inpatient needs
• Skilled in fetal heart rate monitoring interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
• Experience or comfort using Epic electronic health record
• Ability to work 24-hour in-house call shifts and collaborate with a multi-provider team
• Ability to obtain Colorado medical licensure if not already licensed

Education

• MD or DO degree with OB/GYN residency completion

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor and delivery clinical management and decision-making
• Fetal monitoring and interpretation (NST, CST, FSE)
• Operative obstetrics including C-section and management of emergent cases
• Surgical gynecology fundamentals (laparoscopic and open procedures)
• OB ultrasound screening interpretation (Level I) desirable
• Familiarity with hospital workflows, Docline transfer processes, and neonatal Level II transfer protocols
• Proficiency with Epic EHR for inpatient and clinic documentation
