Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living for geriatric residents
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to promote resident comfort and independence
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care activities and observations
- Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure each resident receives individualized attention and dignity
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification (required)
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered care with compassion and respect
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs, transfers, and basic clinical tasks
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Proficiency in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Basic vital sign measurement and observation skills
- Accurate documentation and charting practices
- Infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Time management and prioritization in a busy care setting
- Compassionate resident-centered communication
