Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered assistance with activities of daily living to promote dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility while encouraging independence
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to the nursing team to ensure timely care
• Document care accurately and timely following facility procedures and charting systems
• Support safe transfers and mobility, following fall prevention and safe-lift protocols
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to create a comfortable, respectful environment

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification required
• Prior experience working with older adults or in long-term care preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings or immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist residents as needed during a shift

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused support
• Basic knowledge of infection control and safety practices
• Comfortable with documentation and clear communication with the care team
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and safe resident handling
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude when interacting with residents and families
