Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, focusing on dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics
- Observe, record, and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff
- Help with meal assistance and feeding while promoting independence
- Maintain clean, safe resident environments and practice infection control
- Document care accurately and timely in resident records
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Current TB test and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
- Successful background check and drug screening
- Reliable, punctual, and able to communicate effectively with residents and team
- Comfortable working with elderly populations and supportive during mealtimes and personal care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of ADLs and resident-centered care
- Ability to take and record basic vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection prevention and safe hygiene practices
- Good documentation and charting habits
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
