Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and toileting, delivering care with dignity and respect
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to the nursing team
• Provide safe and compassionate mobility assistance and transfers to reduce fall risk
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record to support continuity and quality
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive nourishment as directed
• Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists and families to create individualized care plans
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Certified GNA or equivalent state certification in good standing
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
• Compassionate demeanor and patience when working with older adults
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA training program or equivalent state-recognized credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
• Basic vital signs monitoring and reporting
• Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Documentation and charting best practices
• Infection control, hand hygiene and PPE use
• Teamwork, time management and problem-solving in a clinical setting
