Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Support mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics
• Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and toileting while preserving dignity
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care activities and resident status
• Foster a warm, respectful environment—encourage social engagement and emotional wellbeing
• Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep residents safe

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Previous experience in geriatric, long-term care, or similar setting preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Valid state-required immunizations and health screenings as per facility policy
• Comfortable working independently in per-diem assignments and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and assisting with activities of daily living
• Familiarity with basic charting and documentation best practices
• Infection control and safe patient handling techniques
• Ability to observe, recognize, and report changes in resident condition
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and staff
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
