Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults, ensuring dignity and respect in every interaction.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in condition, communicating concerns promptly to nursing staff.
• Support mealtime assistance and feeding when needed, following dietary guidance and meal plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and resident needs in accordance with facility procedures.
• Follow infection prevention and safety protocols to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents.
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver coordinated, high-quality care and participate in shift handoffs.

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent certification — required.
• Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant/GNA program or demonstrable experience in long-term care.
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Comfort working with older adults and experience supporting residents with mobility or cognitive needs preferred.
• Strong communication skills, dependable attendance, and a caring, patient-centered attitude.

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a GNA/CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) and safe resident transfer techniques.
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of infection control principles and long-term care best practices.
• Ability to observe, report, and escalate changes in resident condition.
• Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize resident needs in a busy environment.
