Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, dignified care to older adults, focusing on comfort and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition, behavior, or mood to nursing staff
• Measure and record vital signs and intake/output as directed
• Support meal times and ensure residents receive appropriate assistance
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility care plans and protocols
• Promote a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a strong plus
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to work night shifts (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and adapt to per diem scheduling
• Clear background check, TB screening, and up-to-date immunizations as required by the facility
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and reliable work ethic

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and basic nursing assistant duties
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and safe patient handling
• Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
• Ability to observe, record, and report clinical changes accurately
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and the care team
• Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks during a busy shift
