Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, focusing on dignity and respect
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in condition accurately and promptly
• Document care provided and communicate observations to the nursing team
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure dietary needs and preferences are followed
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Collaborate with nurses and other care staff to implement individualized care plans
• Build positive relationships with residents and their families to foster trust

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous experience working with older adults or in long-term care is a plus
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Reliable transportation to Bowie, MD for per diem shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification or equivalent required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support for geriatric residents
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safety procedures
• Basic knowledge of vital sign measurement and documentation
• Strong observation skills to notice and report changes in condition
• Compassionate interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
