Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and manage respiratory patients across critical care units with confidence
• Operate and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators including GE R860 and Draeger models
• Provide advanced ventilator management and titrate therapies for adult and pediatric patients
• Deliver evidence-based treatments such as noninvasive ventilation and high flow oxygen therapy
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner EMR to ensure seamless team communication
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during rounds and emergency responses
• Float across critical care units as needed and adapt to varied patient populations

Qualifications

• North Carolina Respiratory License required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NRP preferred
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (critical care or acute care preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong mechanical ventilation skills and experience with adult and neonatal/pediatric vents
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR for documentation and order flows
• Comfort using devices such as GE R860, Draeger infant/peds vents, Newport HT70 transport vent, V60 non-invasive device, Vapotherm and Comfort Flow
• Ability to manage high patient ratios and prioritize in busy critical care settings
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in multidisciplinary environments
