Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, Days 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and Nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule rotates in 6-week blocks, includes every-other-weekend coverage and every-other-holiday, with typical coverage including Friday, Saturday and Sunday shifts
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $61 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Triage and assess patients across the lifespan from newborns to geriatrics with speed and clinical judgment
- Provide emergency interventions for respiratory, cardiac, trauma and stroke patients
- Initiate and manage IV drips and common ED infusions with safe medication practices
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and read strips independently to detect changes quickly
- Collaborate with the single on-site provider (MD/DO/PA) and coordinate patient care and transports
- Use EPIC for accurate charting, handoffs and documentation
- Initiate respiratory support and work with RT for vents, CPAP, BiPAP and high flow needs
- Practice de-escalation and safe management of behavioral health patients, including use of the locked seclusion room when needed
Qualifications
- Active RN license (required) and ability to submit license documentation
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS, plus TNCC and ENPC or PALS
- At least 2 years of Critical Access Emergency Department experience preferred
- Comfortable and competent with EPIC charting and reading cardiac monitors
- Strong practical skills, independent decision-making, and ability to function with limited ancillary resources
- Competent triage skills and ability to work autonomously in a 1-provider ED environment
- Willingness to complete unit-specific orientation (up to 4 shifts until competency achieved)
Education
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Active RN license required
- BSN not required for this role
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing principles and triage expertise
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
- IV/infusion and drip management
- Trauma and stroke assessment and initial management
- Respiratory support including vents, CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow oxygen
- Phlebotomy and basic lab handling
- De-escalation techniques and safe behavioral management
- Comfortable working in a Critical Access Hospital environment with EPIC
