Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts covering all days of the week. Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Day/Night rotation with every-other-weekend (EOW) coverage and every-other-major-holiday rotation. First-to-float expectations.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Serve as charge nurse on shift — lead the team, make timely decisions, and ensure smooth operations
• Administer medications accurately and safely according to facility protocols
• Provide wound care interventions and follow-up documentation to support resident healing
• Document assessments and care plans in MatrixCare to maintain clear, compliant records
• Collaborate with on-call physicians, PT as needed, and the social worker designee to coordinate resident care
• Monitor residents with cardiac, diabetic, and dementia-related needs and escalate changes promptly
• Support and mentor nursing staff and assist with unit floating as required

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure appropriate for the assignment
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Long Term Care (LTC) clinical experience
• Experience as a charge nurse or demonstrated leadership on shift preferred
• Proven medication administration and wound care skills
• Familiarity with MatrixCare or similar long-term care EMR preferred
• Comfort working with residents who have heart disease, diabetes, and dementia

Education

• Active RN license required. BSN not required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication administration and documentation practices
• Wound assessment and dressing skills
• Experience with long-term care workflows and resident-centered care plans
• Proficient use of MatrixCare or similar EMR systems
• Ability to manage oxygen concentrators and portable oxygen equipment safely
• Excellent communication, delegation, and team leadership skills
• Good clinical judgement and the ability to escalate issues to on-call physicians
