Shift Type: Rotating nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (night shift). Schedule is night-focused with every other weekend required; travelers should expect occasional floating to other units as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality progressive care nursing to telemetry and step-down patients with attention to safety and comfort
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond promptly to rhythm changes and alarms
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol while documenting accurately in Cerner EMR
• Perform patient assessments, escalate concerns, and ensure smooth handoffs at shift change
• Support fast patient turnover with efficient, compassionate care in a short-stay focused unit
• Float to other units as needed while maintaining a positive, team-first attitude

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to work in North Carolina or hold multistate compact licensure)
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience; progressive care/telemetry experience required
• Telemetry competency and comfort managing monitored patients
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-centered attitude
• Willingness to float to other units when required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Progressive care / step-down clinical skills
• Experience with Cerner EMR charting and documentation
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Ability to manage variable patient ratios (1:5, 1:6 stretch)
• Quick decision-making in a fast-turnover inpatient environment
• Compassionate patient education and discharge planning
