Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
- Perform thorough assessments, develop care plans, and implement appropriate interventions
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately in the medical record
- Collaborate closely with the hospitalist and interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Act independently with good clinical judgment while escalating concerns appropriately
- Support patient and family education to promote recovery and safe discharge
- Participate in shift handoffs and maintain continuity of care across the team
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential
- Minimum three years of nursing experience, preferably with Med/Surg exposure
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (required)
- Comfort caring for both adult and pediatric patients
- Experience with 12-hour shifts and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Willingness to collaborate with hospitalists and work in a rural healthcare setting
Knowledge & Skills
- Med/Surg fundamentals and strong patient assessment skills
- IV medication administration and safe documentation practices
- Recognizing and responding to clinical changes and emergencies
- Working independently while contributing to a small team
- Effective communication with patients, families, and providers
- Adaptability to a modern facility in a rural environment
