Shift Type: Rotating (day and night) including weekends; typical day shift 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM (12.5-hour day shift). Must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Day/night rotations possible.

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry data to proactively identify patient changes
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care on a busy PCU (5 West Medicine)
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to ensure smooth transitions
• Prepare patients for procedures such as Endoscopy, IR, and OR when needed
• Provide patient and family education with empathy and clarity
• Serve as a reliable team member during staffing needs and float coverage to sister units
• Support unit workflow and patient safety initiatives, including adherence to unit policies

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) credential (current and valid)
• Minimum 2+ years clinical nursing experience (as listed)
• BLS certification required
• Proven experience with Medical Telemetry (must have)
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR (listed as core skill)
• CMSRN certification encouraged (preferred)
• Leadership or Charge Nurse experience a plus
• BSN preferred (listed as a desirable qualification)

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills
• Proficiency with Cerner Patient Observation and clinical documentation
• Excellent assessment, clinical judgement, and prioritization
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients and team members
• Ability to work in a fast-paced med-surge/PCU environment
• Comfortable using workstations on wheels and remote monitoring technology
• Teamwork and adaptability for floating between sister units
