Candidate Pay Rate: $39 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic sleep studies (polysomnography) with care and attention to detail
- Record clinical data including brain activity, heart rate, breathing patterns, and pulse oximetry
- Monitor patients overnight and respond to clinical changes to ensure safety
- Develop clear, accurate clinical reports that physicians use to diagnose and treat sleep disorders
- Maintain and troubleshoot monitoring equipment to ensure reliable study data
- Collaborate with physicians and the care team to support treatment plans for conditions like sleep apnea and narcolepsy
- Provide compassionate patient education before and after testing to ease patient concerns
Qualifications
- RPSGT or CPSGT required (documentation requested)
- BLS (AHA) required
- Minimum 1 year of sleep technologist / polysomnography experience
- Current, relevant work history and a skills checklist updated within the past year
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
- Ability to provide permanent address (facility considers local candidates)
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited polysomnography/EEG/related program preferred
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or CPSGT required; BLS (AHA) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with polysomnography and overnight sleep testing
- Familiarity with EEG, EKG basics, respiratory monitoring, and pulse oximetry
- Skill in developing accurate clinical reports from recorded data
- Equipment troubleshooting and basic technical maintenance
- Strong patient communication and bedside manner
- Knowledge of HIPAA, infection control, and clinical documentation standards
