Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency care to an assigned group of patients
• Perform rapid assessment and triage to prioritize care in a dynamic ED setting
• Administer medications, start IVs, and manage acute interventions per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately in the chart
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up plans
• Maintain situational awareness and escalate concerns to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (no experience necessary)
• Current Illinois RN license required
• Current BLS required
• Current ACLS required
• Current PALS required
• TNCC preferred
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour night shifts, including weekends

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

• Emergency nursing and rapid clinical assessment skills
• Triage and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making under pressure
• Medication administration and IV/line management
• Proficient documentation and basic computer/EHR skills
• Clear communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to maintain calm and efficiency during high-acuity situations
