Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality progressive care to PCU patients during the overnight shift
• Monitor and respond to telemetry and hemodynamic changes with swift, evidence-based interventions
• Administer medications and IV therapies accurately while maintaining clear documentation
• Perform thorough patient assessments and coordinate interdisciplinary care plans
• Execute ACLS and BLS protocols when needed and lead resuscitation efforts as required
• Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams to support safe transitions of care

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (state verification required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification — required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification — required
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification — required
• Successful completion of license/certificate verification and Trinity-specific competency testing
• Current immunizations and health requirements (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, influenza, Varicella, 2-step PPD or IGRA, fit test, physical/health statement, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, color vision)

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) and current RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong PCU/step-down patient assessment and monitoring skills
• Telemetry interpretation and continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring
• Knowledge of ACLS algorithms and rapid response/crisis management
• Proficiency with medication administration, IV therapy, and safe documentation
• Familiarity with NIHSS for stroke assessment
• Excellent critical thinking, prioritization, and interdisciplinary communication
