Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nuclear medicine procedures with accuracy and attention to safety
- Handle and administer radiopharmaceuticals following all radiation safety protocols
- Operate and maintain nuclear imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Provide compassionate patient care — explain procedures, monitor patients, and document findings
- Work independently to manage patient flow and prioritize tasks during your shift
- Collaborate with trauma team members and other departments to support urgent and emergent care
- Ensure accurate record-keeping, quality control, and adherence to regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Active Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (NMTCB or ARRT(N)) preferred or equivalent state credential
- State licensure as required for practice in Hawaii
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; advanced certifications a plus
- Experience in Nuclear Medicine with the ability to work independently (must be comfortable working alone)
- Experience in a trauma center (Level 3) or similar high-acuity setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and professional bedside manner
Education
- Associate’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiologic Technology, or related field required; Bachelor’s preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures and radiopharmaceutical handling
- Proficiency with gamma cameras, SPECT, and other nuclear imaging systems
- Strong radiation safety practices and regulatory compliance knowledge
- Ability to troubleshoot imaging equipment and perform routine quality control
- Comfort working independently and making clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Good documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
