Shift Type: Rotating nights (includes weekends), 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM NOC (self-scheduled per unit needs; 6 weekend shifts per period)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care to neurology and general ICU patients, including post-thrombectomy and post-neurosurgery care
- Manage advanced therapies and monitoring such as CRRT, bedside EVDs and A-line monitoring
- Administer and monitor thrombolytic (TPA) patients and follow post-procedure protocols
- Document nursing care and patient progress accurately in Cerner
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists and multidisciplinary staff to drive patient-centered outcomes
- Educate patients and families on care plans and recovery expectations
- Follow unit policies, safety protocols and participate in self-scheduling to meet unit needs
Qualifications
- Active RN license or eligibility to obtain RN licensure in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care nursing experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
- NIHSS certification highly preferred
- Experience with neurology ICU patients, including post-thrombectomy and TPA care
- Comfort and competence with CRRT, EVD management, A-line monitoring and infusion devices (Baxter pumps)
- Familiarity with Cerner documentation system
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care and neurology-focused assessment and intervention skills
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record workflows
- Clinical skills in CRRT, EVD care, arterial line monitoring and infusion pump management
- Ability to prioritize in a 1:2 patient ratio ICU setting
- Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity environments
- Flexibility to float across ICUs and adapt to unit needs
