Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage and independently admit ventilated neonatal and pediatric patients using Servo-U and Drager VN500 ventilators
- Set up and administer heliox therapy and manage both invasive and non-invasive respiratory support
- Provide non-invasive ventilation care including BiPAP and CPAP, and neonatal Bubble CPAP management
- Perform and manage high-frequency ventilation modalities such as HFOV and HFJV when indicated
- Administer and monitor nitric oxide therapy and Vaportherm support as required
- Document patient care accurately and timely in Epic, ensuring clear communication across the care team
- Collaborate with NICU/PICU multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and family education
- Maintain patient safety and high standards of respiratory care through evidence-based practice
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- PALS certification (required)
- Minimum 1+ year Neonatal ICU or PICU Critical Care experience (required)
- Hands-on experience with Servo-U and Drager VN500 ventilators
- Proven experience with HFOV, HFJV, Bubble CPAP, heliox therapy, nitric oxide, BiPAP/CPAP
- Comfortable and accurate Epic documentation experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management across neonatal and pediatric patients
- Non-invasive ventilation techniques and troubleshooting
- High-frequency ventilation (HFOV, HFJV) and advanced neonatal respiratory support
- Familiarity with Bubble CPAP and Vaportherm modalities
- Heliox therapy administration and monitoring
- Strong clinical documentation skills in Epic
- Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced critical care environments
