Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered cardiac care on a 28-bed PCU/IMCU unit
- Monitor telemetry continuously and interpret changes to keep patients safe
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips such as Milrinone, Dobutamine, and vasopressors per protocol
- Manage high-acuity patient assignments with a 1:3-4 ratio and escalate concerns appropriately
- Collaborate with physicians, cardiology teams, and surgical services for seamless care of STEMI, NSTEMI, and CTS patients
- Document care accurately and promptly; include required demographic details and upload a badge-appropriate photo as requested
- Provide patient and family education around cardiac diagnoses, medications, and post-procedure care
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve outcomes
Qualifications
- Documented PCU/IMCU experience in your work history (this is required)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (must be active)
- Proven experience with cardiac drips: Milrinone, Dobutamine, and vasopressors
- Comfort with telemetry monitoring and caring for STEMI, NSTEMI, and CTS patients
- Experience managing high-acuity ratios (1:3-4) in a PCU/IMCU setting
- Active RN license in accordance with facility/state requirements (compact license accepted where applicable)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced cardiac care
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Titration and management of inotropes and vasopressors
- Acute cardiac assessment and post-operative cardiothoracic care
- Advanced cardiac life support protocols and rapid response
- Excellent clinical documentation and patient handoff practices
- Ability to prioritize multiple high-acuity patients effectively
