Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality primary nursing care to progressive care and step-down ICU patients
• Continuously monitor patients using telemetry and interpret telemetry strips to identify changes
• Administer medications accurately using Pyxis and document care in Meditech
• Perform fingerstick blood sugar testing and respond to results appropriately
• Operate and troubleshoot equipment such as BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and update patient care plans
• Float to other acute units as needed, including medical, surgical, pediatrics, ICU and emergency department
• Maintain clear, timely charting and communicate effectively with patients and families

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
• At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Progressive care and telemetry experience preferred
• Step-down ICU or ICU experience is a strong plus
• ACLS preferred; current PALS preferred; NIHSS certification preferred
• Ability and willingness to float to other acute units in the facility
• Comfortable working in scrubs and following unit dress code

• Medication administration and Pyxis use
• Electronic charting using Meditech
• Continuous cardiac monitoring
• BIPAP operation and respiratory support familiarity
• Patient assessment and timely clinical decision-making
• Ability to work effectively across medical, surgical, pediatrics, ICU and ED settings
