Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents at the facility
- Administer medications and treatments safely and according to orders
- Assess and monitor patient condition; document changes clearly and promptly
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and care staff to create meaningful care plans
- Support residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity and independence
- Perform accurate shift handoffs and timely communication with the care team
- Maintain infection control, safety protocols, and a clean care environment
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license; Registered Nurses (RN) also considered per order classification
- Active license to practice in Massachusetts (LPN or RN as applicable)
- Experience in long-term care, rehab, or skilled nursing settings is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with an emphasis on resident-centered care
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (LPN)
- For RN candidates: diploma, associate degree, or BSN in nursing as applicable
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and accurate documentation
- Resident assessment and care planning basics
- Familiarity with long-term care and rehabilitation nursing practices
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and charting
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks during a busy shift
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills when working with residents and families
