Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate interventional radiology imaging equipment safely and effectively to assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Prepare patients and procedural areas with meticulous attention to sterile technique and patient comfort
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and tech colleagues to deliver coordinated, high-quality care
- Monitor patients’ status during procedures and communicate changes promptly to the clinical team
- Maintain accurate procedural documentation and ensure imaging records are complete
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any issues to biomedical engineering or leadership
- Teach and mentor newer staff and contribute to a positive, team-first culture
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in interventional radiology or a related imaging setting
- Registry or certification relevant to radiologic technology (for example ARRT (R) or equivalent) or state licensure as required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain prior to assignment
- Comfort working with fluoroscopy and other advanced imaging modalities
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent clinical training
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with fluoroscopic imaging and IR procedural workflows
- Knowledge of radiation safety principles and best practices
- Skillful patient positioning and monitoring during procedures
- Ability to maintain sterile fields and follow strict infection control practices
- Comfortable using PACS and electronic health record systems
- Teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
