Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (4x10-hour day shifts). Day shift with an on-call rotation: after-shift on-call coverage until 7:00 AM, weekend 24-hour on-call rotation on a rotational basis. Must be able to report to the hospital within 30 minutes when on call.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer and monitor conscious/procedural sedation safely for interventional radiology patients
- Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care in the Radiology Pre/Post Unit (RPPU)
- Manage telemetry and interpret/act on dysrhythmias to ensure patient stability during procedures
- Support complex stroke and neuro/interventional procedures in a fast-paced tertiary center
- Collaborate with radiology techs, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and transport to deliver seamless care
- Document care accurately in EPIC and utilize unit systems like PYXIS and SBAR for handoffs
- Participate in on-call rotations, respond to emergencies, and help wrap up cases when needed
- Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement by following protocols and sharing insights
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the practicing state (compact license acceptable where applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience with at least 2 years in Interventional Radiology (HARD STOP)
- Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS (NIH stroke scale certification required)
- Preferred: PALS and experience with ventilator management
- Comfort with telemetry monitoring and interpretation, and prior experience with conscious sedation
- Ability to attend orientation classes during week one and be available for daily training
- Willingness to be on-call as scheduled and able to arrive on-site within 30 minutes when called
Education
- Active RN licensure required (Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in procedural sedation administration and patient monitoring
- Strong telemetry skills and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Familiarity with interventional radiology workflows, coilings, and neuro/stroke procedures
- Ventilator management experience and comfort assisting with complex airway needs
- Proficient with EPIC charting, PYXIS medication systems, and SBAR communication
- Ability to multitask across pre-procedure setup, intra-procedure support, and post-procedure care
- Team-oriented communication with rapid response, respiratory, pharmacy, and transport teams
