Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 3x12 pattern (Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; Night: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Schedule includes weekends as needed and assignments that may float between PCU and Medical-Surgical units.
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for PCU and oncology medical-surgical patients using EPIC for documentation
- Float between Oncology MS and PCU units as needed to meet census and patient care demands
- Ensure staff and patient safety in a locked corrections unit environment with controlled access via Corrections Officers
- Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias and participate in unit rapid response/code teams
- Manage IV therapy including PICC and central line care, blood product administration, and IV insulin protocols
- Support respiratory care: HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care and ABG interpretation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — pharmacy, respiratory, PT, radiology, social services and transportation — to coordinate care
- Maintain situational awareness in a secure setting and adhere to isolation precautions and PPE guidelines
Qualifications
- BLS certification required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (must meet experience requirements within the most recent 3 years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience for clinical pass)
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
- ACLS, NIHSS and charge nurse experience are preferred (if available, please list)
- Comfort working in a locked corrections unit and following facility security protocols
- Experience with telemetry/PCU or medical-surgical telemetry preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Medical-surgical nursing and telemetry monitoring
- PCU/stepdown care and progressive care competencies
- Chemotherapy monitoring and oncology patient care (preferred)
- IV therapy, PICC/central line management and blood transfusions
- Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and use of rapid response teams
- Experience with Pyxis medication system and EPIC documentation
- Respiratory support skills: HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care and ABG interpretation
- Familiarity with endocrine protocols including IV insulin management
