Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Day). On-call rotation required: Weekday call 4:00 PM - 7:30 AM (twice during a two-week period), Weekend call Friday 4:00 PM - Monday 7:30 AM (1 weekend per month). Every third weekend coverage and weekly on-call rotation Monday-Monday every third week. (Day and night coverage required due to on-call duties.)

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist providers during diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures, including scrubbing and circulating in the IR/Cath Lab
- Prepare and maintain a sterile field and ensure all procedure trays and equipment are ready and functioning
- Perform accurate patient monitoring and telemetry observation throughout procedures
- Place EKG leads and support cardiac monitoring as needed
- Respond promptly to urgent and emergent cases, following callback expectations for STEMIs and IR procedures
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary three-person on-call team, ensuring at least one RN is present during coverage
- Contribute to unit needs by rotating additional coverage equitably when required
- Complete unit orientation and any required dimensions training to meet facility standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology (IR) experience; IR experience is essential (approximately 90% IR case mix)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- ARRT or RCIS certification required (ARRT Advanced Cert, RCES, or RCIS with med experience preferred)
- Proven ability to scrub and circulate in Cath Lab/IR settings and follow sterile technique
- Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and EKG lead placement
- Ability to meet on-call response expectations (30-minute callback for STEMIs; IR callback varies by procedure)
- Traveler experience not required; locals accepted
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on knowledge of IR and Cath Lab procedures: left/right heart caths, vascular stents, embolization, paracentesis, thoracentesis, catheter/drain exchanges, biopsies, kyphoplasties
- Familiarity with specialized equipment: AngioJet, Pneumbra, EKOS, Inari, CSI atherectomy systems, Bovi, IABP, Impella, SonoSite, S2000, Philips IVUS/iFR, GE MAC/Canon/GE labs
- Strong sterile technique and room circulator skills
- Accurate patient monitoring, EKG lead placement, and procedural assistance
- Ability to work calmly during urgent/emergent cases and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
