Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, Day shift 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, rotating (includes nights and weekends as needed); self-scheduling with a weekend requirement of approximately 3 shifts in a 4-week period
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for Neuro Acute and epilepsy monitoring patients
- Perform continuous patient assessment and detect subtle changes in neurological status
- Monitor 24-48 hour trend EEGs and collaborate with the neuro team on care plans
- Carry out skilled procedures such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes while maintaining strict sterile technique
- Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and participate in ACLS interventions when needed
- Document care accurately in Cerner and communicate effectively with physicians, RT, pharmacy, and IV teams
- Serve as a resource during shifts, working with PCTs and charge nurses to ensure safe patient ratios
- Participate in SIMs Lab and unit education to maintain competency and improve patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active RN license eligible for submission to Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with required Level 1 trauma experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Certified in MedSurg/Tele preferred; BSN preferred
- Must pass dysrhythmia competency exam (two attempts allowed) prior to acceptance
- Must demonstrate competency in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (SIMs Lab pass/fail on day 1)
- Willingness to follow facility requirements: valid driver’s license within 50-mile rule, travel team vehicle, and facility grooming/fit-test policies
Education
- Active RN license required
- BSN preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry and MedSurg nursing expertise with strong neuro assessment skills
- EEG monitoring familiarity and experience with epilepsy specialty care
- Dysrhythmia recognition and critical thinking in acute settings
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting
- Sterile technique, wound care, and basic ventilatory support awareness (Bipap/RT collaboration)
- Strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to float to related units as needed
