Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based care across labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum (LDRP) for low-risk perinatal patients
- Deliver 1:1 care during active labor and maintain 1:3 postpartum ratios following AWHONN staffing standards
- Continuously monitor fetal status and recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Document patient care accurately and promptly in Epic
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology and social services to optimize patient outcomes
- Float between units and facilities as needed to meet patient care demands
- Maintain required certifications and participate in unit orientation and ongoing education
Qualifications
- Current RN license (eligible to work in Oregon)
- BLS required; NRP required
- Minimum 2 years LDRP experience preferred (2 years explicitly noted)
- Experience with fetal monitoring and triage; recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Comfortable charting in Epic (preferred)
- Reliable vehicle required for this assignment and regional floating
Knowledge & Skills
- Labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum nursing (LDRP)
- Postpartum care and neonatal age group familiarity
- Fetal monitoring and interpretation of fetal heart rate patterns
- Proficiency with Epic electronic charting
- Triage skills and the ability to prioritize in busy unit settings
- Follows AWHONN staffing standards and unit patient ratio expectations
