Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and stabilize patients in the emergency department with speed and clinical judgment
• Provide trauma care consistent with Level 1 or Level 2 trauma protocols
• Administer evidence-based interventions including ACLS/PALS/BLS protocols when indicated
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow and disposition
• Perform and document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient education clearly
• Participate in specialty-specific competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards
• Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive, patient-centered culture

Qualifications

• Active RN credential (License/Certificate Verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• PALS or ENPC required
• TNCC certification required
• Clinical experience in Emergency Department (ED) nursing with Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience
• Completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist as required
• Ability to pass required health screenings, respirator evaluation, and drug screen

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong trauma assessment and resuscitation skills
• Proficiency in emergency triage, rapid decision-making, and prioritization
• IV therapy, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring skills (ECG/arrhythmia recognition)
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Accurate documentation and familiarity with competency checklists
• Comfort working in a fast-paced ED environment and adapting to changing patient needs
