Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and stabilize patients in the emergency department with speed and clinical judgment
- Provide trauma care consistent with Level 1 or Level 2 trauma protocols
- Administer evidence-based interventions including ACLS/PALS/BLS protocols when indicated
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow and disposition
- Perform and document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient education clearly
- Participate in specialty-specific competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards
- Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive, patient-centered culture
Qualifications
- Active RN credential (License/Certificate Verification required)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- PALS or ENPC required
- TNCC certification required
- Clinical experience in Emergency Department (ED) nursing with Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience
- Completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist as required
- Ability to pass required health screenings, respirator evaluation, and drug screen
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong trauma assessment and resuscitation skills
- Proficiency in emergency triage, rapid decision-making, and prioritization
- IV therapy, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring skills (ECG/arrhythmia recognition)
- Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
- Accurate documentation and familiarity with competency checklists
- Comfort working in a fast-paced ED environment and adapting to changing patient needs
