Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and set up endoscopy equipment for safe, efficient procedures
• Assist clinicians during colonoscopy, EGD, bronchoscopy and advanced endoscopic procedures (EBUS, EUS, ERCP)
• Perform high-level disinfection and proper cleaning/care of scopes and instruments
• Manage instrument processing, restocking supplies and room turnover between cases
• Handle specimens correctly, including gastric brushings and pathology specimens
• Document care and procedure details accurately in Epic
• Adhere to infection control, sterilization/disinfection practices and Universal Protocol time-outs
• Float within your scope of practice to support facility needs and ensure excellent patient flow
• Respond to on-call requests as scheduled (every 5th weekend rotation)

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of endoscopy experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Hands-on experience or competency with EUS, EBUS, ERCP, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy and related endoscopic instrumentation
• Comfortable with high-level disinfection (HLD), scope care and instrument processing
• Familiarity with Epic charting preferred
• Willingness to float within scope and take scheduled on-call shifts
• Must meet travel candidate requirement: permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in endoscopy procedures: colonoscopy, EGD, bronchoscopy, EBUS, EUS, ERCP
• Expertise in scope cleaning, high-level disinfection and sterilization processes
• Strong instrument processing and room turnover skills
• Specimen handling procedures for pathology and frozen sections
• Infection control best practices and Universal Protocol (time out)
• Experience using Epic or similar electronic charting systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary acute hospital team
