Roles & Responsibilities
- Handle surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment with precision and care during procedures
- Maintain strict sterile technique to ensure patient safety in the operating room
- Anticipate surgeon needs by preparing instruments and supplies ahead of each case
- Assist the perioperative team by preparing the OR and supporting smooth case flow
- Understand common surgical procedures to contribute proactively to positive outcomes
- Communicate clearly with the surgical team to support efficient, high-quality care
Qualifications
- Graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program
- Prior surgical technologist experience in an operating room setting (travel experience preferred; first-time travelers not requested for this role)
- Strong instrument handling skills and demonstrated sterile technique
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and assist efficiently during procedures
- Comfort working in a fast-paced perioperative environment and adapting to varied shifts
Education
- Graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist Program
Knowledge & Skills
- Instrument handling and surgical setup expertise
- Proficient in sterile technique and OR infection control practices
- Familiarity with common surgical procedures and perioperative workflow
- Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and prioritize tasks
- Effective communication and teamwork in the operating room
