Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for PCU and burn/critical care patients
• Assess and manage critically ill patients, including ventilator management and occasional CRRT
• Perform thorough, timely documentation using Meditech to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with physicians, charge RNs, PCTs and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain safe patient ratios (ICU 2:1; med/surg and PCU 4:1) and prioritize patient safety
• Deliver patient- and family-centered education and support during recovery
• Support unit workflow by assisting with transfers, admissions and occasional floating as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state licensure required for assignment)
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience (PCU/ICU or med-surg experience required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Comfortable with ventilator management and exposure to CRRT is a plus
• Experience with Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems
• Ability to work rotating nights and fulfill minimum weekend requirements
• Professional, team-focused attitude and strong communication skills

Education

• Active RN license required (specific degree not specified)

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical expertise in PCU/critical care and med-surg patient management
• Hands-on skills with ventilators, specialty beds and critical care equipment
• Familiarity with CRRT principles and when to escalate care
• Proficient documentation and electronic charting (Meditech)
• Excellent assessment, triage and prioritization skills
• Effective teamwork, delegation and patient advocacy
