Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform detailed echocardiograms using ultrasound equipment to help diagnose and monitor cardiac conditions
• Analyze and optimize cardiac images, ensuring high-quality diagnostic data for physicians
• Explain procedures and put patients at ease with clear, compassionate communication
• Maintain accurate patient records and document findings in the Cerner EMR
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists and the care team to support excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment to ensure reliable operation
• Participate in ongoing education to stay current with best practices and technology

Qualifications

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) via ARDMS OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) via CCI — required
• Minimum 2 years of echocardiography/echo tech experience — required
• Hands-on experience with Cerner EMR and strong record-keeping skills
• Excellent patient communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to continuing education and maintaining credentialing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of echocardiography techniques and cardiac anatomy
• Proficiency operating ultrasound equipment and optimizing image quality
• Skilled at patient positioning, safety, and compassionate patient care
• Familiarity with EMR documentation workflows (Cerner)
• Ability to maintain equipment and follow maintenance procedures
• Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities
