Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Block scheduling with 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights, every other weekend and holiday requirement

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates in the Special Care Nursery and postpartum mothers
Attend deliveries as the baby nurse, ensuring safe transition for newborns
Manage respiratory support including Bubble CPAP, HiFlow, and BiPAP
Administer IV therapy, titrate drips (D5W, TPN), and maintain IV access
Assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance
Collaborate with neonatologists and respiratory therapists for optimal patient outcomes
Flex to postpartum assignments when SCN census is low, caring for mother-baby couplets

Qualifications

Current RN license in Washington state
NRP and BLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of experience preferred in NICU Level 2 and postpartum care
Skilled in attending deliveries and performing newborn assessments
Experience with Bubble CPAP, HiFlow, and umbilical line assistance

Knowledge & Skills

Neonatal nursing and postpartum care
Patient assessment and critical thinking
CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator management prior to transfer
IV start and maintenance, including D5W and TPN administration
Titrating drips and managing hypoglycemia
Comfort with charge nurse responsibilities
