Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient

Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-14-2026

End Date: 09-13-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts; every third weekend required, Monday and Friday off that weekend

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional physical therapy services to acute inpatients, helping them regain mobility and independence
Assess and treat patients with diverse diagnoses including general medical conditions, orthopedic surgeries, and neurological impairments
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans
Cover various units including Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER as needed
Document patient progress and adjust treatments to achieve optimal outcomes

Qualifications

Active California Physical Therapy license required
Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
Acute inpatient physical therapy experience is a must
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in treating orthopedic, neurological, and deconditioned patients
Strong communication and documentation skills
Proficiency with rehabilitation equipment and modalities
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
