Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries like total knee and hip replacements
Manage pain medications, antibiotics, and blood transfusions with precision
Collaborate with charge nurses and patient care techs to maintain a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio
Monitor telemetry boxes and work with tele techs for interpretation
Float to MedSurg, rehab, or PCU as needed to support the team
Participate in self-scheduling and cyclic rotation to ensure unit coverage

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS certification required (AHA)
Valid driver's license to verify 50-mile radius compliance
Willingness to take an open-book exam during orientation (90% pass rate required)
Team-oriented, flexible, and eager to learn

Knowledge & Skills

Experience with ortho patients (joint replacements, spine surgeries) is a plus
Proficiency in pain management, antibiotic therapy, and blood administration
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to floating between units
