Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality general ultrasound exams, including OB/GYN and vascular studies, using Philips EPIQ and other department equipment
• Produce clear, diagnostic images and document findings accurately in Cerner/PACS
• Manage a daily caseload (typically 8-16 studies) while maintaining attention to patient comfort and safety
• Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to ensure timely, accurate reporting of results
• Respond to on-call requests and provide dependable coverage as part of the team
• Adhere to department protocols, infection control standards, and quality assurance procedures
• Assist with department workflows, including room/scanner setup and turnover for efficient patient throughput
• Communicate professionally with patients and families to explain procedures and answer questions

Qualifications

• RDMS with OB/GYN verification required (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - OB/GYN)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• RVT (Vascular Technology) preferred
• Minimum 1 year of sonography experience
• Proficiency with Cerner charting/PACS and familiarity with Phillips EPIQ preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and participate in call rotations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of abdominal, OB/GYN, and vascular ultrasound protocols
• Skilled in vascular exams and image optimization techniques
• Comfortable using Cerner and PACS for image storage and reporting
• Experience with Philips EPIQ or similar ultrasound platforms
• Excellent patient positioning, scanning technique, and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize a variable caseload while maintaining image quality and documentation
