Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Provide compassionate bedside care and emotional support to older adults
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Document care activities accurately and maintain clear, timely records
• Support safe transfers and promote independence while preventing falls and injuries
• Communicate effectively with families and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care
• Help create a warm, dignified environment that preserves the quality of life for each resident

Qualifications

• Valid Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtain upon hire
• Comfortable assisting with mobility, transfers, and personal care
• Able to pass background checks and required health screenings
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude and good communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of basic geriatric care principles and elder needs
• Skill in safe resident handling and proper body mechanics
• Basic vital signs measurement and observation skills
• Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE use
• Clear documentation and basic charting skills (electronic or paper)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a care team
