Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Assist with mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
- Document care activities accurately and maintain clear, timely records
- Support residents’ dignity and emotional well-being through respectful interactions
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver individualized care plans
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
Qualifications
- GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working with elderly residents and assisting with personal care
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health/screening requirements
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA/CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing assistant tasks and long-term care best practices
- Familiarity with infection control and resident safety procedures
- Good charting and documentation habits
- Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nurses
- Compassionate bedside manner and patience with geriatrics
