Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor PCU patients with clinical confidence and compassion
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Interpret telemetry and act promptly on patient status changes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and execute care plans
- Provide clear patient and family education to support recovery
- Document patient care thoroughly in the electronic medical record
- Advocate for patient safety and quality outcomes during every shift
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Colorado or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or acute care nursing experience
- BLS required; ACLS and other critical care certifications preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and intermediate critical care practices
- Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, and patient assessment
- Proficient at clinical documentation and communicating care plans
- Able to prioritize, triage, and respond quickly in fast-paced situations
- Committed to patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice
