Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, supporting daily living activities
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility safely and respectfully
- Monitor resident conditions and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Support meal service needs and assist with feeding when required
- Document resident care accurately and maintain confidentiality
- Collaborate with the care team to promote a comfortable, dignified environment
- Engage residents with kindness and meaningful interaction to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- GNA or equivalent certification required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- State nursing assistant certification or active enrollment in a program is a plus
- Prior experience working with older adults preferred
- Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- GNA or CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered assistance
- Basic patient care skills including transfers, ADLs, and vital sign observation
- Familiarity with documentation practices and care plan follow-through
- Ability to work independently on night shift and escalate concerns appropriately
- Teamwork mindset and adaptable problem-solving skills
