Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients quickly and accurately on arrival to determine severity and immediate needs
• Perform triage and provide emergency interventions to stabilize patients and reduce long-term harm
• Deliver advanced life support measures and follow ACLS, PALS, BLS protocols as required
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and other care team members to coordinate rapid care
• Document patient condition, treatments, and outcomes clearly and promptly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on interventions, next steps, and follow-up care
• Maintain readiness by keeping certifications current and participating in unit-based improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Oklahoma state RN license or compact privilege (required)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience (required)
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications (required)
• TNCC preferred
• Recent traveler experience highly preferred
• Two supervisory reference forms dated within the last two years
• Up-to-date skills checklist (within 1 year) relevant to emergency nursing
• Candidates must provide permanent address (facility may consider local candidates differently)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and rapid triage skills
• Emergency care and advanced life support competencies
• Proficiency with NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Strong clinical decision-making in high-acuity situations
• Excellent documentation and time-management skills
• Teamwork and clear communication with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to work independently while following facility protocols and physician orders
