Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (rotating nights; every other weekend)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality orthopedic nursing care to adult surgical patients
- Perform wound management including dressing changes and wound VAC maintenance
- Manage post-operative tasks such as suture/staple removal and monitoring for complications
- Assess and care for patients with Foley catheters and NG tubes with attention to safety and comfort
- Document patient care accurately in Cerner and communicate changes clearly to the care team
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate safe patient mobility using lifts and assistive devices
- Advocate for patients and educate them and their families on post-op care and recovery plans
- Support unit flow during busy periods and adapt to changing patient ratios with professionalism
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (RN) — NC license required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (hospital setting preferred)
- BLS certification required
- Experience in orthopedic or med-surg settings preferred
- Comfortable with wound care, dressing changes, wound VAC, Foley and NG tube care
- Ability to use EMR systems (Cerner experience preferred)
- Team player with strong communication and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Orthopedic nursing best practices and post-op care
- Wound care and wound VAC maintenance
- Dressing changes and suture/staple removal
- Foley catheter and NG tube management
- Med-Surg assessment and patient monitoring
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR documentation
- Safe patient handling and use of lifts, CPMs, and mobility aids
